The LTS Help Desk is here for you.

The mission of the LTS Help Desk is to provide quality service to the YCP community in addressing all technology-related needs. Located in Schmidt Library, the LTS Help Desk is a friendly place to discuss technical concerns.  Students, faculty and staff receive assistance with general computing issues including hardware, campus-supported software, network connectivity and user accounts.  We provide problem resolution and personal assistance to help you make the most of YCP and personal technology resources such as handheld devices and game consoles.

We offer the following Services

  • Personal Computer Connectivity

    The LTS Help Desk provides support for personally-owned computers to connect to the YCP network, both wired and wirelessly. We also assist with troubleshooting software issues, including scanning of malware and spyware.

  • Residence Hall Cable TV

    Resident students can enjoy cable TV in their residence hall with using a QAM compliant TV and on a laptop or mobile device with XFinity On Campus.

  • YCP Wireless Connectivity

    Wireless connectivity is available campus-wide, allowing for an easy and convenient way to connect computers or mobile devices to YCP’s network. A guest network is also available for those visiting campus.

  • Open Access Computers and Labs

    Computer labs within the Humanities Building are available for student use with 24/7 access.

  • Print Release Stations

    Students can send from their personal computer to Mobile Print Stations across campus. This resource offers an economical alternative to bringing a personal printer to campus.

  • Network Accounts

    All students, faculty and staff receive a YCP network account. This account provides access to campus computers, YCP Google applications and other YCP resources.

  • MyYCP

    MyYCP ( is the York College campus portal. It allows Students, Staff, and Faculty of the college to use multiple campus resources including YCP Google Applications, Moodle, YCPweb, Announcements, and more, with a single login.

  • Online Resources

    Online Resources

    York's intranet portal, MyYCP, provides single sign on access to all of our online resources. You must have a valid YCP user name and password to access MyYCP. An icon set at the top left of the Home page of the portal is used to access these resources.

    The resources available on the portal include:

    • Moodle- Moodle is our online course application for users to communicate, collaborate, post assignments, and complete exams.

    • Google Apps - York College has established an account with Google to provide a wide variety of their applications - all associated with your YCP account. Icons are provided for your convenience to connect to your Gmail, Google Docs, and Google Calendar.

    • MyFiles - MyFiles allows users to access their "H-Drive" (the York College network file space assigned to each student) as well as the drives used by faculty to store materials for student access ("facdata drives").  MyFiles is available to current students, faculty, and staff and provides users a means of uploading and downloading files to the network file space. 
      We strongly recommend you store all school related materials on your H: Drive.  These are backed up daily and protect your data from loss.

    • YCP Web / Banner - YCP Web provides access to the Banner student information system. This system provides access to course information, online registration, account information and online payment/deposit forms. 

    • Photo Directory - The Photo Directory lists basic contact information and photos of Students, Faculty and Staff. Academic and administrative departments can be looked up in addition to individual employees.

    • ITkb - ITkb is the LTS Help Desk’s knowledge base. This convenient, self-service resource is provided to answer your technology-related questions to complement the personalized service of LTS Help Desk staff.
    • Flex Card - The YCP ID Card also serves as a students’ Flex Card. The YCP Flex Card is accepted for purchases in the Bookstore, in all campus dining areas and at the Business office to pay small balances. Additionally, the card is used for photo identification, meal plans, Library sign-out, security door entry, as well as for printing and digital photocopy services, and for vending machines.  Many area vendors accept the Flex Card for off-campus purchases.     • EPS- Faculty and staff have Electronic Printing Service (EPS) available to submit documents for printing electronically to the Academic Printing Center.
  • Network Data Storage

    The "H: drive" is the main file storage for York College students, faculty and staff. Users are allowed 1GB of data storage for documents, audio and video files, etc.  Files can be accessed on or off campus through the MyFiles icon on the MyYCP portal.

  • Cellular Infrastructure

    York College has made significant investment in wireless technologies over the past five years.  All academic buildings, residence facilities and outside areas have Wi-Fi wireless connectivity for York College network account holders.

    Due to the increasing use of smart phones and other mobile devices by the YCP community, we have invested in cellular infrastructure in 8 key academic buildings across campus, in many West Campus residence facilities and in the Northside Commons residence facility.

    Most YCP students, faculty and staff have mobile devices covered by AT&T or Verizon carriers. Both of these providers support 3G currently and look to be heading for 4G coverage.   Our cellular infrastructure supports both carriers and includes 3G services.  Additional cellular services will be added wherever possible and as budget permits. 

    Two area cellular towers are located nearby.  A Verizon tower is located at York Hospital and an AT&T tower is located next to the YCP Kingsmill Depot.  The close proximity of these towers to the College provide some areas outside YCP buildings with improved cellular and 3G coverage.

Information Technology Policies

York College has several policies in place to protect the college as well as the faculty, staff and students. All users of the York College computer network agree to abide by the following policies as applicable.

Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Sunday - 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
