Program Objective
To provide high achieving undergraduate students in any major with a unique opportunity to earn their baccalaureate degree and the Master of Business Administration degree with as little as one additional year of study.
General Information
York College MBA Dual Degree Program enables high performing students to earn both a baccalaureate and a Master of Business of Administration (MBA) degree in as little as five years. In this unique program, students experience coursework in the liberal arts, obtain a solid core in basic business competencies, and develop expertise in one or more particular business fields. This combination of knowledge and competencies represents the qualities and expectations most frequently identified by employers. Graduates of the Dual Degree Program leave York College with a definite advantage in the job market, a fact proven time and again by Dual Degree alumni.
Although popular with students pursuing undergraduate degrees in business, the program is open to students of all majors. Eligibility for the program is determined by the undergraduate Grade Point Average (GPA). Students may apply for admission upon successful completion of 75 credits of undergraduate work with a GPA of 3.4 or higher.
Once admitted, Dual Degree candidates are assigned a graduate advisor who will assist them in designing a program of study which fulfills both degree requirements and meets the student’s needs. One of the key features of the Dual Degree Program is that students may take up to three MBA courses during their senior undergraduate year. The remaining MBA courses are taken after earning the baccalaureate degree. Planning ahead is immensely important. Incoming students who are considering the Dual Degree Program should inform the Admissions Office upon application to the College. Current YCP students should inform their undergraduate advisors as early as possible.
Courses Offered
Students in the Dual Degree Program are required to meet the course requirements for the MBA Program in their area of concentration. Undergraduate electives are utilized to begin graduate study. As undergraduates, students in the Dual Degree Program may take up to three graduate level courses in their senior year. These courses, although at the graduate level, would be offered at the lower undergraduate tuition rate. Once the undergraduate degree is completed, students would continue meeting the foundation, core, and concentration area courses requirements of the MBA Program

Note: There is no obligation to continue the program upon completion of the undergraduate degree requirements. Students may continue coursework towards earning the MBA or not. However, ongoing admission to the MBA program requires a student to maintain continuous enrollment. Those who do not enroll in the fall or spring term after receiving their bachelor’s degree, must reapply.
Special Opportunities
We believe that the integration of experiential learning with traditional academic coursework is the keystone of an effective MBA Program. To that end, we strive to provide MBA students with a wide variety of opportunities to apply their skills and develop a network of professional contacts.
Many of York College’s MBA courses include components which bring students and outside business executives together. This may occur in the form of student project groups, where students work within an organization, or “Guest Presenter Nights,” where executives present real situations for students to work on in class. In both cases, the executives join the class when the final project or problems solution is presented.
More long-term opportunities for experience-based learning are available through Directed Study courses. In a Directed Study, students spend an entire semester focused on a specific project or research endeavor, which is supervised by a full-time faculty member.
