1. What is the average class size?
The average class size is 21 students. York College does not offer classes with more than 40 students.

2. Is there a lot to do at York College?

There are over 80 clubs and organizations at York. Students can get involved with anything from the Ski and Outdoor Club, The York College Players (a theatre organization), WVYC, The Spartan (campus newspaper), various musical groups, fraternities and sororities, Tae Kwon Do, Student Senate, the Literary magazine and much more. Organizations can also plan activities surrounding any of the many theme weeks throughout the year. Athletic events whether they are intercollegiate or intramural, will also draw crowds.

3. Who teaches the classes at York College?

All classes at York College are taught by professors. York College does not utilize graduate students or teaching assistants in the classroom.

4. How many students attend York College?

York College has about 4,600 full-time undergraduate students.

5. Where are most of your students from?

Most of York's population comes from the Mid-Atlantic region, including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Maryland, Virginia, and Delaware. York also has students from across the United States, including Florida and California, as well as numerous overseas countries.

6. What is the security like at York College?

York College has 24-hour security for its students. There are emergency call boxes throughout the campus along with a campus escort service. The neighboring police departments (York City and Spring Garden Township) also patrol York's campus to add another level of security. There are security presentations in the dorms, as well as a Safety and Security Week, that promotes safety to all York College students.

7. Can I get a part-time job on campus?

There are many opportunities for part-time employment on campus and not all jobs on campus are limited to work study students. There are also opportunities in the local area for part-time jobs. The Career Services Center can provide a listing of companies and organizations in the metro York area who have openings for part-time employment.
