You can request an on-campus escort by contacting the Department of Campus Safety by using one of the emergency call boxes located on campus, by calling extension 1314 from a campus phone or by calling (717) 577-1314 from an off-campus phone; this service is available 24-hours a day, seven days a week. Escorts to York Hospital for medical emergencies are also available. On-campus escorts take the form of an officer walking a person to their vehicle/building.
You may obtain a main campus map showing locations of emergency call boxes here.
You may obtain a west campus map showing locations of emergency call boxes here.
Can I get an Escort off Campus?
Department of Campus Safety personnel cannot perform escorts off campus, except to West Campus facilities. All students are encouraged to walk with a "buddy" or have someone drive them when they go off campus to visit friends. If you must walk off campus alone, call ahead to your destination so they can be expecting you and follow the common sense self-protection steps.
West Campus Shuttle Services
The Campus Shuttle transports students between the main campus and the west campus. A completed route takes approximately 20 minutes, however, consideration must be made for traffic, amount of students being transported, refueling and driver breaks.
