Who has the Right to Memorialization in Death?
Recovering the Stories of Those Buried in York's Potter's Field
Students in York College's Museum Studies course conducted original research to create the exhibit, Who has the Right to Memorialization in Death?: Recovering the Stories of Those Buried in York's Potter's Field. The students have built upon the work done for Project Penny Heaven, an effort to remember and recognize those buried in unmarked graves in the field adjacent to the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
The Museum Studies course described above is one of many community-based learning courses that the College offers.
