Gerald Patnode, EdD

Biography

Dr. Gerald R. Patnode is a tenured Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Marketing in the Graham School of Business. He served as the first Chairman of the newly formed Graham School of Business (2010) and served on two separate occasions as the department chair in Management and Marketing. He has had a varied Business, Government and Academic career that spans fifty years. He began teaching at York College as an Adjunct faculty member in 1996 and joined the faculty full time in 2004. Prior to joining York College, he served as President at the Institute for Enterprise Development in Washington, D.C., an affiliate of the Mason Enterprise Center at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia. From 2000 to 2002, he served as Dean of the Julio School of Hospitality Management at the Baltimore International College. Over a twenty year period, Dr. Patnode served as the founder and President of G.R. Patnode Applied Management Solutions, Inc., a Baltimore based Market and Economic research company, serving clients throughout the eastern United States. Other academic positions include Director of Continuing Professional Education at the Baltimore County Community College, faculty positions at Loyola University in Maryland, Gettysburg College and a visiting faculty associate at The Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Patnode's service in government includes the Federal Advisory Board of the Small Business Administration, a Small Business Advisory Council to the U.S. Senate Committee on Small Business, Baltimore County MD Economic Development Commission and Chair of Baltimore County Economic Task Force and advisor to the Adams County PA, Economic Development Commission. Additionally he served as Chair of the Baltimore County Personnel and salary advisory Board, Baltimore County Labor Negotiating team. Dr. Patnode also served as the Community Development and Economic Advisor to two Baltimore County Executives.
