Mark O'Donnell, PhD

Biography

Dr. Mark O’Donnell is an associate professor of leadership, organizational behavior, and management in the Graham School of Business at York College of Pennsylvania, where he has taught both graduate and undergraduate courses. His courses have included organizational dynamics and change management (MBA), executive leadership (MBA), organizational behavior, principles of management, leadership and change, and ethical leadership and social responsibility in organizations.Dr. O’Donnell has a Ph.D. in Organizational Studies with a specialization in Organizational Behavior and Leadership from University at Albany, SUNY. His research has been published in the Journal of Managerial Psychology, the International Journal of Operations & Production Management, the International Journal of Organizational Analysis, and Leaders and the Leadership Process, 6th edition; his research articles have been downloaded over 15,000 times. Dr. O'Donnell has presented his research at several professional conferences, including annual meetings hosted by the Academy of Management, the Southern Management Association, the Eastern Academy of Management, and the Northeastern Association of Business, Economics, and Technology. His research focuses on the leadership behaviors of managers who have developed positive and high-quality relationships with their employees, and the actions leaders can take to increase employee commitment and motivation. Other research interests include workspace design, management pedagogy, corporate social responsibility, and other aspects of leadership and positive organizational scholarship. He is a member of the Academy of Management and the Society for Human Resource Management.
