Resources for Faculty

Workshops

The Center for Faculty Excellence sponsors a wide variety of faculty development workshops throughout the year on topics such as supporting first-generation college students, implementing project-based learning, mentoring undergraduate research, and making your classroom more diverse, equitable and inclusive. See the upcoming Schedule of Workshops on Canvas. We also partner with many campus organizations to sponsor workshops for specific disciplines or programs.

Send workshop requests and suggestions to ctl@ycp.edu.

All faculty (full-time and adjunct) may consult with specialists in teaching, learning, and assessment to discuss instructional approaches. Consultations can include non-evaluative teaching observations at faculty request.

The Center for Faculty Excellence also assists faculty in discovering what is working best for students by providing opportunities to collect feedback from students through focus groups or anonymous surveys.

The Office of the Provost appoints Digital Faculty Fellows for each academic department. Their role is to support faculty with enhancing the use of digital pedagogy in Hyflex courses.

Digital Fellows...

  • identify the most exigent needs of faculty as they plan their courses.
  • assist faculty with planning and implementing digital tools in their Hyflex courses.
  • participate in events designed to support the Digital Fellows Program.

The Center for Faculty Excellence supports new faculty with ongoing orientation throughout the year. Through this orientation, new faculty will:

  • learn about YCP and the surrounding community
  • adjust to campus culture and become engaged members of the College
  • gain insight into teaching and career development
  • network with other faculty to develop a personal support system

The Center for Faculty Excellence supports faculty research and writing projects and faculty-staff writing groups. Print and electronic resources to support your writing process and productivity can be found on our Canvas page.

If you would like to be connected to a writing group on campus, email us at ctl@ycp.edu.
