Good writing skills are essential in any professional setting.  The Professional Writing minor is a suitable complement to any major as it helps students to enhance their written communications skills so they can gain a competitive edge in the workplace.  Students will learn the theories of writing and will gain experience in practical applications of writing concepts both in-class and out of class.  They will learn to write effectively and to produce print and electronic documents for a variety of audiences.

Creative Writing Minor

York College creative writing courses offer students a chance to develop their writing and imaginative skills under the direction of an actively publishing faculty and a series of visiting writers. The classroom of the creative writing workshop provides students with a learning-by-doing setting, in which students are put in control of their education and the direction of their creative development.
