The Spanish minor emphasizes the acquisition of skills in all aspects of the language - listening comprehension, reading, speaking, writing and cultural understanding.  Knowledge of Spanish gives students a competitive edge when entering careers that seek applicants who are able to communicate in the second most widely spoken language in the United States.  Students learn about cultural diversity and become more aware of their own world view and that of others in the United States and in the global community.

The French minor emphasizes the acquisition of skills in all aspects of the language - listening comprehension, reading, speaking, writing and cultural understanding.  Knowledge of French gives students a competitive edge when entering careers that seek applicants who are able to communicate in one of the six official languages of the United Nations. 

International Relations Minor

The International Relations minor explores large and vital questions about power, international affairs, and political systems around the world. The minor helps prepare students for careers in a wide variety of areas including government, international organizations, journalism, as well as graduate school.
