German (Minor)

The German minor emphasizes the acquisition of skills in all aspects of the language - listening comprehension, reading, speaking, writing and cultural understanding.  Knowledge of German gives students a competitive edge when entering careers that seek applicants who are able to communicate in German, the language spoken in the country with the world's fourth largest economy.  Students learn about cultural diversity and become more aware of their own world view and that of others in the United States and in the global community.
