Meet Niki Waters
Niki holds a Master’s degree in Psychology with a specialization in Health Psychology and is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Cognition and Neuroscience. Their academic and professional interests center on the intersection of cognitive processes, neuroscience, mental health, behavioral health, and health promotion. As part of their work in mental health education and prevention, Niki developed the PAUSE Program curriculum while with NAMI York Adams, a mental health fitness program designed for middle and high school students. The PAUSE Program emphasizes mental health awareness, emotional regulation, coping strategies, resilience, and the development of skills that promote psychological well-being.
Niki currently works as a Mental Health and Wellness Counselor with RVO Health, where they support tobacco-cessation behavior change. Their interdisciplinary work integrates principles from psychology, neuroscience, behavioral health, and health promotion to support mental health and well-being across diverse populations.
