Pat Murray spent over two decades working at the intersection of government, law, campaigns, and public policy. His professional experience informs his teaching.

He worked for Maryland’s legendary power brokers, Senate President Thomas V. Mike Miller, Jr. and House Speaker Michael E. Busch, where he developed a deep understanding of leadership and legislative strategy. He served as chief of staff to Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski, where he helped lead the county through the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, he serves as chief of staff to Frederick County Executive Jessica Fitzwater, where he helps lead Maryland’s fastest-growing jurisdiction.
