York College of PA Extends Enrollment Deposit Deadline to June 1 Due to FAFSA Delays
York College of Pennsylvania has extended its enrollment deposit deadline from May 1, 2024 – National College Decision Day – to June 1, 2024, due to delays in the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) process.
The U.S. Department of Education recently announced that it won’t be sending students’ FAFSA data to colleges and universities until the first half of March. That will likely result in financial aid offers arriving to students in April.
“We understand that students and families are facing many challenges with the roll-out of the new FAFSA,” said Vice President for Enrollment Brian Hazlett. “We want to assure you York College is doing everything we can to provide financial aid packages to students as quickly as possible.”
York College’s delayed deposit deadline will allow more time for students and families to evaluate financial aid offers and packages before making a final commitment.
“We hope this extra time will allow you to carefully consider your options and make the best decision for your future,” said Hazlett.
The College is holding a March 13 FAFSA Completion Night as part of its “Understanding College Series” for all college-bound high school students and their families to learn the ins and outs of the college selection process. Interest in attending York College is not a prerequisite for this event, which will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Register here.
