York College of PA Boustead Distinguished Artist Recital Series to Feature Three October Events
York College of Pennsylvania’s Boustead Distinguished Artist Recital Series will open with a two-piano recital by Teodora Adzharova and Shirley Yoo, celebrating the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s birth at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 13. Adzharova and Yoo are both on the faculty at Baltimore’s Peabody Conservatory.
All events in the Series are open to the public free of charge and held in DeMeester Recital Hall, Evelyn and Earle Wolf Hall.
The Boustead Series continues at 7:30 p.m., Oct. 27, with a faculty/guest recital featuring the York Chamber Players, conducted by Professor of Music Matthew Inkster. The York Chamber Players is a collective of dedicated performing musicians based in York. Most members serve on the faculty at York College and/or the YCPrep Community Music School. The group presents a wide array of chamber music repertoire for various ensemble configurations.
A guest recital by soprano Maria Clark and pianist Maria Thompson will feature music from their 2022 album, “Soul Sanctuary: Spirituals and Hymns.” The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Oct. 30.
The Boustead Distinguished Artist Recital Series at York College features exciting performances by outstanding guest and faculty musicians. Appearances by guest artists are made possible by a gift from the Boustead Family Foundation.
