York College of PA to open Graham Center for Collaborative Innovation
York College of Pennsylvania will open its Graham Center for Collaborative Innovation (GCCI) with a talk by Sandra Taylor, former senior vice president of corporate responsibility at Starbucks, at 7 p.m., Oct. 25, in the Waldner Performing Arts Center. The event is open to the public free of charge; an RVSP is requested through Eventbrite.
Taylor will present “Managing Risks and Reaping Rewards: Corporate Social Responsibility as a Collaborative Activity” at York College. Drawing upon her deep experience in finding business-friendly solutions to complex environmental, social, and governance issues, she will discuss how collaboration across the York business and academic communities can innovate ways of “doing well” financially by “doing good” in (and for) the world.
Taylor is currently CEO of Sustainable Business International, a consulting business that assists clients at various stages of environmental sustainability and corporate social responsibility in the food and beverage sectors. She is the author of The Business of Sustainable Wine, published in July 2017. Sandra received her bachelor’s degree from Colorado Women’s college, JD from Boston University School of Law, and MBA program from the Bordeaux School of Management/Kedge Business School in France.
The mission of the Graham Center for Collaborative Innovation, which will be located in the Mill House on Kings Mill Depot, is to drive innovation through collaboration across the business and academic sectors. The Center will approach complex business issues through multi-disciplinary partnerships, bringing together students and faculty in spaces where they can interact with the business community. This major initiative again demonstrates York College’s role in supporting a flourishing community as we educate students to succeed both personally and professionally—from Day One.
