York College Of Pa Professors Awarded National Writing Award For Edited Collection
The Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and the WAC Clearinghouse awarded a 2021 edited collection, The Routledge Handbook of Scientific Communication, with the Best Writing Across the Curriculum Edited Collection. The Handbook was co-edited by two York College of Pennsylvania faculty members and their colleagues.
York College’s Drs. Mike Zerbe, Professor of English, and Gabriel Cutrufello, Chair of the Communication and Writing Department and Associate Professor of Rhetoric and Composition, were joined on the publication by co-editors Drs. Cristina Hanganu-Bresch of St. Joseph's University and Stefania Maci of the University of Bergamo, Italy. The collection features 33 chapters written by scholars and researchers from around the world on the topic of scientific communication.
The Association for Writing Across the Curriculum and the WAC Clearinghouse sponsor awards that recognize contributions to the WAC community through scholarship, service, and achievement. Nominations are solicited prior to each International Writing Across the Curriculum Conference, and awards winners are announced at the conference.
Drs. Zerbe, Cutrufello, and Hanganu-Bresch also co-presented the keynote at the 2nd International CIRLaM Conference: Communicating Medical Science in the Digital Age: Culture, Knowledge, Expertise, Practices in Naples, Italy, in May.
