York College of PA Scholarship Established By PeoplesBank In Memory of Alumna Cynthia Dotzel
PeoplesBank, a community bank that serves clients from South Central Pennsylvania to Northern Maryland, has established a scholarship at York College of Pennsylvania in memory of Cynthia Dotzel, a 1976 graduate.
Dotzel was the bank’s first female Chair of the Board. She was a Certified Public Accountant and co-founder of Dotzel & Company, Inc. She was also the first female Chair of the Board for the York Water Company and served on many other community boards in York County. A member of the York College Board of Trustees, she received the Distinguished Alumni Achievement Award from the College in 2017.
At a recent board meeting of the bank, the scholarship was formally announced and presentations were made by York College. Also in attendance were Dotzel’s husband, George, and their three daughters.
Senior Director of Philanthropy Glenn Miller, representing the College, expressed deep gratitude. “PeoplesBank could have chosen any number of worthy recipients to honor Cindy,” he said. “We are profoundly grateful and honored that they have chosen Cindy’s alma mater, York College.”
Bank president and CEO Craig Kauffman said, “Cindy played a pivotal role in shaping our vision and values, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.”
The scholarship will be awarded to an Accounting major beginning in Fall 2024.
