For over a decade, York has been creating an entrepreneurial ecosystem meant to support all who wish to start their own venture. From college students to community members, York has blossomed into an environment full of entrepreneurial-minded individuals who realize the advantages of starting their business here and now.
But where do these individuals go for funding? Typically thought of as one of the hardest challenges of starting a business, an abundance of funding options may be found in York. From more established organizations like York College and Ben Franklin Technology Partners to newer options like the White Rose Ventures and the York County Economic Alliance’s (YCEA) BLOOM, there are plenty of options.
To highlight these resources, the panel discussion will feature prominent members of York's funding ecosystem:
- Martin Fedorko, Founding Partner of White Rose Ventures
- Joe Hackett, Regional Director for Ben Franklin Technology Partners
- Sully Pinos, Director of the YCEA's BLOOM Business Empowerment Center
- Teresa Gregory, President of Traditions Bank, York Region
