What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My greatest personal achievement is my family. My husband and two daughters are my support system and inspiration for all I do personally and professionally. Many individuals are trained and qualified to fill your position at work, but you are truly irreplaceable at home.
How did York College help you get to where you are today?
York College helped me to become the professional I am today. I obtained both my BS in Business Administration and MBA at York College as a non- traditional student while working full-time at Traditions Bank. The skills and material I learned could be immediately applied to my job and helped me to excel in my career; receiving multiple promotions while I worked toward both degrees.
What was your favorite class/professor at York College and how did it/they impact you?
My favorite class at York College was MBA 572 Corporate Finance. Dr. Forjan’s passion for his teaching of the subject coupled with the challenge and problem-solving aspect of the course inspired me to change departments within my company at Traditions Bank. I use much of the knowledge I learned in Corporate Finance in my job as Portfolio Manager to this day.
What do you enjoy the most about your chosen career?
I enjoy commercial banking because it is a good match for my hard-working and ambitious nature. Being surrounded by intelligent, driven co-workers inspires me to do my best work and continually learn as much as I can. I love that the industry is constantly changing and evolving, creating new challenges and problems to solve.
