This minor will provide broad-based knowledge of the unique challenges that a youth sports administrator or coach will encounter.  Students will gain knowledge and practice application and analysis of information as it relates to the following: child and adolescent development; principles of coaching; response to emergencies; risk management and prevention of injuries; and administration of youth sports.

Education Minor

The Education minor provides students with foundational knowledge and experiences focused on the field of Education. This minor is designed for students who are interested in working in a professional capacity with children in roles outside that of the traditional classroom teaching or for students seeking a better understanding of the educational system with the possibility of later exploring a career in Education through a non-traditional path.

ESports Management Minor

This minor will provide broad-based knowledge and skills related to the unique opportunities and challenges that a manager in the Esports industry will encounter.  Students will be able to study the industry from multiple perspectives and take part in relevant real-world experience.

Outdoor Leadership Minor

This minor combines academic instruction and experiential learning to provide students with foundational knowledge and skill competencies for leadership in outdoor contexts. Coursework is embedded with opportunities for campus/community engagement and entry-level, industry standard certifications. Students will practice application and analysis of specialized learning in areas such as: outdoor leadership, adventure programming, ropes course facilitation, supportive interdisciplinary coursework, outdoor skill-based PAW courses, and a culminating outdoor expedition leadership course.
