Rewarding On-Campus Employment

Working in the Academic Success Center is a great way to earn money while connecting and supporting other students, and supporting your own growth and professional development. Additionally, all positions provide a flexible work schedule built around your classes and availability.

 

Types of Student Jobs at the ASC

There are three types of paid positions available to students:

Office Assistants

Open to students from any level and major. Job responsibilities include greeting visitors, connecting students with appropriate resources, supporting daily upkeep in the ASC space, and helping with data entry and reporting.

Position starts at $10/hour. When positions are available, they will be posted on Handshake. Interested students can apply by completing the Student Employment application.

Content Tutors 

Must be a student in good academic standing with an overall GPA of at least 3.2 who has successfully completed a course with a 3.0 or higher and receives the endorsement of a faculty member. Tutors work either individually or with small groups of students, helping them better understand course material, complete assignments and prepare for exams.

Position starts at $11.65/hour. Interested students should complete the Tutor Interest Form.

Writing Tutors

Students from all majors who like to write and want to help others with their writing should consider becoming writing tutors. Interested students must successfully complete WRT 290: Teaching and Tutoring Writing, which is offered every fall semester. Students who complete this course with a 3.0 or higher are qualified to be hired as Writing Tutors. Occasionally, this requirement can be waived for students with sufficient past writing tutoring experience.

Position starts at $11.65/hour.
