How to Transfer to YCP
Learning how to transfer is the first step toward joining our community. Our streamlined application process helps you focus on your future.
Begin by preparing your official transcripts and reviewing our transfer admissions criteria:
- A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required. Select majors may have a higher GPA requirement
- A maximum of 75 semester hours will be accepted in transfer from two-year colleges
- Students must complete a minimum of 30 credit hours at York College to be eligible to earn a degree
- Students admitted to the college with an associate's degree from another institution must satisfy all York College general education requirements not completed as transfer credit
To apply for admission, submit the following:
- An online application
- An official transcript of all academic work attempted, with a separate copy submitted from each college attended
- An official copy of your final high school (optional)
- If you have earned fewer than 30 semester hours of college credit, you are also required to submit your high school transcript.
After submitting your application, you can log in to check your application status. Then, after your application is accepted and you’re ready to become a Spartan, the Registrar’s Office will start the process of evaluating your credits to determine how many are eligible to transfer to your degree.
Once you have been accepted by the Admissions Office, your transcripts will be evaluated in the Registrar's Office to determine how many of your credits transfer to your new program. Financial Aid and Student Support
Full-time accepted transfer students are eligible for and automatically considered for financial aid, including dedicated transfer student scholarships, at the time of admission. Other scholarship opportunities for transfer students include one for members of Phi Theta Kappa honor society and one specifically for students at Harrisburg Area Community College.
