Two students learning how to give a shot.

An optional path to success in nursing.

There is more than one way to earn a degree in Nursing from York College. While some students will be admitted to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.S.N.) program directly, others may benefit from additional preparation. If you don’t yet meet all of the criteria for admission into the Nursing major, you may still have the option to come to YCP as a Pre-Nursing student.

It is important to note that Pre-Nursing is not an official degree program. Rather, it is a track of study that allows you to fulfill the prerequisite coursework needed for the Nursing major, with specialized support from a professional advisor. When you have met the prerequisite requirements, you will be eligible for acceptance into the Direct Entry: Plus B.S.N. program with clinical placement beginning in the fall. This can occur as early as your fifth semester.
