Delta Alpha Pi International Honors Society (DAPi) is dedicated to recognizing the academic achievements of students with disabilities. DAPi facilitates the development of leadership skills, advocacy, and education, with a focus to foster the opportunity to change the perception and acceptance surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion of individuals with disability.

Delta Alpha Pi Membership Information

Eligibility Requirements for Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate students who are interested in applying to Delta Alpha Pi should meet the following criteria: 

  • Present with a documented disability and be registered to receive services through York College Student Accessibility Services.
  • Complete a minimum of 24 credits.
  • Maintain an overall Quality Point Average of 3.10.
  • Demonstrate an interest in disability issues.
  • Complete a total of six DAPi-approved volunteer service hours per semester. All DAPi approved service hours are focused on the development of leadership skills, advocacy, and education, with a focus to foster the opportunity to change the perception and acceptance surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion of individuals with disability.

Graduate students who are interested in applying to Delta Alpha Pi should meet the following criteria: 

  • Present with a documented disability and be registered to receive services through York College Student Accessibility Services.
  • Complete a minimum of 18 credits.
  • Maintain an overall Quality Point Average of 3.30.
  • Complete a total of six DAPi-approved volunteer service hours per semester. All DAPi approved service hours are focused on the development of leadership skills, advocacy, and education, with a focus to foster the opportunity to change the perception and acceptance surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion of individuals with disability.

Delta Alpha Pi Honor Society Events

Spring 2024 Semester

Member meetings are scheduled on the first Wednesday of the month at 4:00. Member meetings will be held on 2/7, 3/6, 4/3 and 5/1 in the Student Union, room 134, the Keystone Room.

Board meetings are scheduled the last Wednesday of the month at 4:00. Board meetings will be held on 1/31, 2/28, 3/27 and 4/24 in the SAS office, Humanities room 23.

The Spring 2024 induction ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, March 14 at 5:00 in Yorkview Hall. 

Accessibility Ally Training will be presented by Julie Rasmuson, Director of Student Accessibility Services and Advisor to DAPi on March 20, at 5:00 in HUM 144.

The Autism Expo and Walk will be held on 4/13 from 10:00-2:00 at the Rev's Stadium. DAPi volunteers at this event by hosting a table with a craft or activity for the participants. It is a fun event. Transportation will be arranged! More details to come!
