Giving through your IRA (QCD)
The IRA charitable rollover (also called the Qualified Charitable Distribution, or QCD) is a great way to make a tax-free gift to York College of Pennsylvania.
If you are age 73 or older, you can fulfill your required minimum distribution (RMD) from your IRA by making a charitable gift, as a direct rollover. This fulfills the RMD requirement and avoids having to pay income tax on the funds. If you are at least 70 1/2, you can make a tax-free gift from your IRA as well.
Contact your IRA administrator for distribution forms and requirements. Completing your gift by December 31 each year will ensure you can secure your annual tax benefits.
